The marketing skills and experience of Emma Greenwood, Group Marketing Manager at British Engines, have been recognised by the award of Fellowship from professional body the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).
Fellowships are awarded to experienced marketers who can demonstrate an exceptional track record and in Emma’s case, this has included her work in business, leadership and mentoring. Emma started her career in the North East before moving to the South East in 2009 to work at one of the UK’s top construction firms; she then returned to the North East in 2014.
Throughout her 19 years in marketing, Emma has worked across the public and private sector mainly in the engineering field and has worked on some high profile projects including, London 2012, Crossrail, the New Tyne Tunnel and Northumberlandia. Emma was also recently named in CIM’s Great North East Marketers campaign.
Emma is currently strategic lead for marketing at British Engines reporting into the main board, with a remit to oversee marketing across the British Engines Group worldwide and managing the group’s community engagement. Emma is also Vice-Chair of the CIM North East Regional Board, delivers the Level 4 CIM qualification at nemsa in Gosforth and is mentoring a number of young marketing professionals.
Emma, who is also a Chartered Marketer, commented: “I am very proud to receive this status from CIM in recognition of my experience and qualifications. Marketing is so often seen as the department which ‘writes brochures’, but I am a passionate believer in the difference marketing can make at a strategic level to improve company performance. I am lucky enough to have worked in businesses that know the power of marketing.
“It is really important to me that I help encourage and develop the next generation of marketing professionals, as others did for me. It’s exciting to see all the brilliant marketing talent we have here in the North East and I’m delighted to be part of that community.”
Diane Earles, Network Manager at CIM, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Emma as a Fellow of the CIM and I am sure her success will inspire others in the industry.”
This is a fantastic achievement by Emma and nesma is extremely proud to include Emma in our CIM teaching team.
