The CIPR Northern Conference is back on Friday 13 July and with only a few tickets remaining, you’ll need to book yours quickly.
Join us at the Crowne Plaza in Newcastle from 9 am for an exciting programme of keynote speeches, debates and workshops, following the theme of ‘PR: The Art and Science of Engagement’. nesma is a study centre for CIPR accredited courses, so please come and say hello and find out more about our upcoming qualifications or shorter courses. Veronica, Lucy and Rebecca will be available throughout the day to answer all your questions.
Highlights from this years’ Northern Conference will include keynote speakers Laurie Bell from Wiltshire Council and Paul Irwin from Trylife. Laurie will be discussing the art and science of preparing for the unexpected, as well as how to manage the national and international media when the unexpected does happen, using the case of the Salisbury spy poisoning incident.
With Trylife’s social media impressions now reaching around 500,000,000 a month, social welfare professional, Paul will be giving tips on the art and science of engaging with hard-to-reach audiences. This is guaranteed to be an interesting speech, especially since in just one-month Trylife managed to reach 65% of all Facebook users in the USA, without having any form of marketing budget and by using just one mobile phone.
The Northern Conference programme also includes 3 sets of workshops to choose from at various points in the day, with topics varying from how PR can use trends, audience development and how artificial intelligence could be used in Public Relations in the future. Neuroscience and internal communications also feature on this incredibly diverse agenda for the day.
The Conference will conclude with an interview with the ‘God Father of Public Relations’, Bob Leaf, who will discuss his experiences in an ever-changing industry. He worked in the world’s largest public relations firm for 40 years and is one of the industry’s most knowledgeable counsellors on international public relations. This fascinating interview will be followed by a panel debate about the future of Public Relations before attendees are invited to a networking session in the Gin Bar.
nesma offer everything from the CIPR Foundation Award in Public Relations, up to the new Professional PR Diploma. We also run two of the CIPR Specialist Diplomas in Crisis Communications and Internal Communications, along with a range of one- day courses on topics including video marketing and influencer marketing.
You can ask us any questions about these courses at the Conference or you can email us on hello@nesma.co.uk for further information. Hope to see you there!
