It’s been a great start to the year, and we have already had a lot of firsts this January!
We have our first CIPR Professional PR Diploma cohort starting this week, which will enable our students to gain an advanced understanding of professional practice, including PR strategy and planning, content management, media and engagement, measurement and evaluation, and PR leadership.
Our first CIM Digital Diploma in Professional Marketing kicked off in Carlisle with Tutor Kate Armstrong. Focusing on digital marketing and management this Diploma provides the strategic skills required to manage the marketing function. It’s a recognised CIM qualification for marketers aspiring to and currently in operational, supervisory or management roles looking to build their practical skills in digital marketing and broaden their strategic perspective.
Sally Keith delivered our first CIM training course on ‘How to Write Successful Newsletters and Press Releases’ on Thursday 24 January. We found our delegates were delighted to be able to travel relatively locally rather than have to travel to Moor Hall in Berkshire. Which is exactly why we have collaborated with CIM to deliver a number of their training programmes as well as their qualifications. We were delighted to welcome delegates from Yorkshire and Cumbria as well as the North East.
We have also added two brand new topics to our short courses programme. We are delighted that Paul Hitchens, a TEDx Speaker and the author of three bestselling books, is going to deliver a creative Employer Brand course designed to help plan, build and implement a compelling way to differentiate your business to attract and retain the very best talent. This course is happening on Thursday 13 June. Our new partnership with Strategic marketing agency, MMC will help companies to see the powerful insights that market research can deliver. The 1-day course is designed to help you understand the critical components that make a market research project successful and how robust research can underpin both a successful marketing campaign and an overarching strategy.
The icing on the cake has to be Veronica’s nomination for the North East Champion as part of The Chronicle Sunshine Fund’s Glass Slipper Awards 2019. This award recognises and celebrates the achievements of a talented individual that does genuinely inspiring things in the North East through their job role. As you know, having established nesma, Veronica supports many initiatives to make sure that marketing is at the centre of every business and enterprise in the North East and is always looking for new ways to help and share knowledge. It’s good to be recognised for something you do well!
There is certainly lots to look forward to in 2019.
